All 32 teams will have completed their 3rd and final game of the group stage by Friday, and very little has yet been determined. Remember, only the top 2 teams in each of the 8 groups moves on to the next round. Check this out:
Only 3 teams are definitely moving on: France, Brazil and Portugal
Only 2 teams are definitely done: Qatar and Canada (as well as they have played!)
And the 1st and 2nd place positions are up for grabs everywhere; these could easily come down to goal differentials in several instances.
The drama of this cup has already lived up. I can't believe we will have to wait 4 more years! It's a cruel world.
We could talk about so many moments, Richarlison's bicycle may be the nicer goal so far, Courtois' save of Davis's penalty was insane (oh, poor Canada), but all biases aside :), how about Messi coming through YET AGAINNNNNNNNN. Did anyone doubt it? Shame on you.
And now Argentina is in a must-win situation to move on, and playing the top ceded team no less. If my beloved Argentina wins and Saudi Arabia does too, it will come down to goal differentials, where Argentina has just the slightest of leads now.
Tune in at 2pm today for the games that will decide the fates of the USA and Wales...
