The Spring soccer season is underway and La Finca is not. That doesn’t mean it’s over. In fact, we received confirmation that we have first dibs on Marbletown Park again next year and we have entry intention of running the winter program in 2022. We’ll probably even start earlier next year. We’re also still pushing to open 2 more mini-pitches, in Rosendale and Kingston. More on that as events unfold.
We were hoping to have launched the spring season already, with more walled, mini-pitched madness, but the new park project is taking a bit longer than expected (at least in our optimistic imaginations). But yes, it’s still very much alive. The Marbletown Town board is currently reviewing the plan to build a professional mini-pitch on the basketball court and we’re doing everything we can to make that happen. Town Supervisor, Rich Parete, is all in but he can’t do it alone. If you know anyone in an influential position, be sure to give it a plug!
In the meantime, get out and play wherever you can. And remember, Keep an Eye Outside and an Ear to the Street, more La Finca coming soon!
